Scan Based Trading (SBT) is a process that is used for consignment suppliers.
SBT suppliers maintain stock at the stores and receive payment when items are sold (scanned).
Daily 852 product movement is sent to SBT suppliers Sunday through Saturday for all items sold the previous day.
Invoices are created for this movement and payment automatically transmitted on an agreed upon regular schedule.
The supplier has the option of receiving an 820 (CTX) transaction or an Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment with an emailed spreadsheet detail of the transaction.
Either payment option is used to pay SBT suppliers.
